INTRODUCTION
The rapid development of digital technologies has significantly changed security perspectives and increased the risk of cyber threats. The nature of cyber-attacks has changed to become more sophisticated and target oriented. Dealing with cyber-attacks is one of the most challenging, but important, aspects of cyber security research.
The Winter School on Advances in Cyber Security (WSCS) is an annual winter school organized by School of Information and Communication Technology, Hanoi University of Science and Technology, in collaboration with Samsung R&D Vietnam. The school this year will focus on the most recent advances in cyber security research, such as post-quantum cryptography, privacy, software and system security, and machine learning security. The winter school lasts four days, giving plenty of time for sessions and socializing during coffee and lunch breaks. Students will have the opportunity to interact with fellow researchers and expert speakers on relevant security topics.
We are looking for applications from undergraduates, graduates, PhD students, and other IT professionals interested in cyber security. Please apply by completing the application form and uploading your CV as well as a brief motivation letter.
Intended Audience:
Young professionals looking to take a deep dive into cyber security as well as those pursuing a Bachelor’s, Master’s, or early PhD are welcome to apply to the winter school.
This school has a capacity of 40 students. There will be no registration fee for participants. Lunches, coffee break snacks, and a gala dinner are provided by this school. We have a limited number of scholarships for participants from distant regions. The scholarship covers both lodging and travel costs. Participants who do not receive scholarships are responsible for their own transportation, lodging, and other living expenses during the event.
